Ski Holiday at Kronplatz

Your First Winter Holiday at Kronplatz

Hotel Rudolf sits in Reischach, right at Kronplatz.
The ski bus takes you to the lifts,
and afterwards 1,000 m² of wellness are waiting.

Every good story begins with setting out. For you, it is your first winter holiday at Kronplatz, and the questions come with it: How do we get there? Where do we pick up our ski passes? What do we do when our legs feel heavy after the third day on the slopes? Here are the answers. Hotel Rudolf in Reischach sits right at Kronplatz, you pick up your ski pass at reception, and for a first ski holiday that is a fairy-tale start with very little small print. A ski holiday becomes a story when everything else simply works.

Who is a ski holiday at Kronplatz right for?

Kronplatz in the Val Pusteria belongs to the Dolomiti Superski ski network and has room for very different stories: for beginners making their first turns, for families setting off together and for experienced skiers who want more of the mountain. For details on the slopes, the current piste map of the ski area is the best source.

Hotel Rudolf is aimed at couples and families who want to combine active days with relaxation. In winter, couples unwind in the Adults only area with its outdoor pool and whirlpool, while families have their own realm in the Family Spa. The rooms and suites come in several categories, suited to couples, solo travellers and families.

Getting to Reischach: by car, train or plane

By car, take the Brixen/Pustertal exit from the Brenner motorway and continue to Brunico (28 kilometres). Leave the road at the exit Bruneck Mitte/Reischach/Kronplatz. By train, travel to Fortezza (Franzensfeste) and change there to the regional train to Brunico. The hotel picks guests up from Brunico station; just let the hotel know your arrival time in advance.

If you are flying, the nearest airports are Bolzano (about 75 kilometres), Innsbruck (about 95 kilometres), Verona (about 200 kilometres) and Milan (about 360 kilometres). There is no hotel airport shuttle, but the hotel can arrange a taxi on request.

Once you are there, the Bruneck Kronplatz Card makes travelling without a car easy, as it lets you use public transport in South Tyrol. You will find all the details under How to find us.

From the hotel to the lifts: ski bus, ski pass and ski depot

A hotel ski bus takes you from Reischach to the ski lifts, which are about 700 metres away. You can get your ski pass at reception. Your equipment stays overnight in the ski depot, which has a ski boot dryer and a waxing bench. The hotel is happy to answer any questions about the ski pass.

A ski day at Rudolf

The day begins at the breakfast buffet. Then the ski bus takes you to the lifts, and you spend the day on the mountain. In the afternoon, an afternoon snack with sweet and savoury treats is waiting. Your ski boots dry in the ski depot in the meantime.

After that, the time until evening belongs to the wellness area. In the evening, you can choose from a menu with four or five courses. And tomorrow, if you like, it starts all over again. A ski day is only a success when the evening is, too.

When should you book your ski holiday?

You should book a ski holiday at Kronplatz early for popular periods such as Christmas or carnival, as sought-after rooms and offers go quickly. If you are flexible, you will also find suitable winter packages outside the holidays.

Hotel Rudolf offers a range of winter packages. Which offers are currently available and what they include is listed on the Offers page.

More than just skiing

The cross-country trail starts right next to the hotel. Add winter hiking in Reischach and ski tours in the Dolomites, plus snowshoe hikes, horse-drawn sleigh rides and guided ski tours for a fee.

If you want it even more adventurous, the experiences include the guided Sellaronda ski tour and a ski guide for Cortina. For quieter days, Brunico is close by, and the Bruneck Kronplatz Card makes getting there easy. An overview of all winter adventures is on the Experiences page.

Wellness after skiing

The wellness area at Hotel Rudolf covers 1,000 square metres, indoors and outdoors. The indoor pool, whirlpool, sauna, steam bath and relaxation rooms are open to adults, and two textile saunas in the pool area are open to families too. You will find more on the Wellness page.

In winter, the outdoor pool and whirlpool become the Adults only area. At the Vitalbar, which couples and families share, you can try homemade juices made by the hotel's senior hostess. The Fine Dining page gives you an impression of the hotel's cuisine.

Is Kronplatz good for children?

A ski holiday at Kronplatz works well with children, and Hotel Rudolf is set up for families: there is a playroom, a garden with a playground, a dedicated family area in the spa and free Wi-Fi. That leaves time after the day on the slopes for playing, for the family area in the spa and for dinner together.
