Delicacies at Kronplatz: between the Alps and the Mediterranean Sea

Gourmets love South Tyrol. In this region between Adige and Rienz, between the Alps and the Mediterranean Sea, a rich variety of different culinary traditions blend to form a harmonious whole. Our authentic South Tyrolean specialties include delicious mezzelune stuffed pasta and smoky cured ham. Our typical Austrian apple strudel, made with fresh South Tyrolean apples, is a specially created “Rudolf” dish. Chef Sandro refines international dishes into a unique, exquisite experience. Fish jump from the clear mountain streams straight onto the table or arrive freshly caught from the Mediterranean Sea. Your walks on the high mountain pastures will reveal that our local farmers produce meat and vegetables of the very highest quality. It's so easy to enjoy yourself here - culinary delights become pure pleasure with that special Rudolf twist, evening after evening, in our four- to five-course dinner menus. And our gorgeous breakfast buffet is the ideal start to your day...

Dynamic... or relaxing? The Hotel Rudolf is the center of great activities

Uniquely beautiful holidays to your heart's content... no one could possibly be bored here. Skiers swing over 1,200 km of slopes, snow guaranteed, with the Dolomiti Superskipass, while cross-country skiers glide gently through the magical silence of picturesque valleys. And whenever the little ones aren’t on the slope learning their first turns on a snowboard or on skis, they can be busy making a huge snowman.

The legendary blooming of the South Tyrolean apple orchards is enchanting for both sporty hikers and casual walkers. Our shady mountain lakes and forest trails offer soothing freshness on hot summer days. The glowing colors of autumn form a backdrop for smoky fires on which chestnuts are roasted for our traditional custom of "Törggelen". And if you are into climbing, you can find your own personal made-to-measure challenge, ranging from a safe via ferrata through to an extreme route through the Dolomites.

Not to mention the array of bicycle paths and mountain bike trails, and the many cable cars ready to take you, for example, up to the Kronplatz, to discover the Reinhold Messner Mountain Museum. How refreshing to take a quick nap in an alpine meadow, listening to the gentle hum of the bees. Words are silver, experience is gold. The very best insider tips and secrets shared by people with deep roots in this region, at the Hotel Rudolf ...
