Treat your family to unforgettable walking holidays in Italy – choose the Plan de Corones/Kronplatz! With its convenient ropeway (just 700 m from our doorstep), the plateau is an ideal destination for family hikes and trips. The panoramic walks are undemanding and even suitable for pushchairs. The ropeway can be reached by foot or by our comfortable shuttle service. The city bus is a third alternative, as the bus stop is right in front of our hotel. What lies at the summit of the Plan de Corones/Kronplatz? Two attractions; the former is a little kids’ paradise where the little ones can play, laugh, paint and dance. The latter, designed by Zaha Hadid, is the Messner Mountain Museum Corones, which provides precious insights into the world of mountaineering.
Starting from our hotel, you can reach the Dolomites in no time, either directly from the Plan de Corones/Kronplatz, through the village of Valdaora, or by crossing the Badia Valley. Also known as the “pale mountains”, the Dolomites have been UNESCO-listed since 2009 and never cease to amaze locals and tourists alike. A natural shrine where you will collect fond memories and ever-lasting impressions.
The main advantage of choosing a hiking hotel at the Plan de Corones/Kronplatz for your walking holidays in Italy is that you have a whole mountain world at your feet – not just the Dolomites, also the towering glacier of the Zillertal Alps and the idyllic heights of the Rieserferner Group are just 30 minutes away. This leaves you spoilt for choice as to where to stage your daily hiking endeavours as well as to which walking routes to choose according to your level of fitness and motivation. To ensure a pleasurable, risk-free experience, always take into account your physical condition and respect your limits. It is equally important to choose the adequate equipment, e.g. before challenging a 3,000er. Checking the weather conditions and forecasts is always recommended, as is relying on experienced and qualified Alpine guides.
