The route into the Val di Tures/Tauferer Tal, which extends from Brunico/Bruneck to Campo Tures/Sand in Taufers, leads through the most beautiful bike path of the Val Pusteria/Pustertal to the Castle of Tures/Taufers. From the hotel you reach Campo Tures/Sand in Taufers through Brunico/Bruneck on the path to S. Giorgio/St. Georgen, Uttenheim/Villa Ottone. The way back is along the same route – from Brunico/Bruneck you can get back to the hotel by Citybus if your legs are tired.

This tour starts at our Rubner's Hotel Rudolf and negotiates through Santo Stefano/Stefansdorf and San Lorenzo/St. Lorenzen, the underpass under the new bridge and on to Castelbadia/Sonnenburg and Campolino/Lothen, two small hamlets of San Lorenzo/St. Lorenzen. The route continues to Chienes/Kiens where you cross the Val Pusteria/Pustertal road and reach Casteldarne/Ehrenburg. From there the path leads up to Ronchi/Runggen where you can have a break and some snack, before you cycle back to San Lorenzo/ St. Lorenzen and finally our hotel.

This tour starts in Dobbiaco/Toblach. You will pedal through the famous Valle di Braies/Pragser Tal and along the Valdaora/Olang lake, following the Rienza/Rienz river to Brunico/Bruneck. A visit to the South Tyrolean Folklore Museum in Teodone/Dietenheim is recommended, where you can learn a lot about the rural life in South Tyrol as well as the local traditions and culture.

Trail features
Difficulty: easy bike ride on a well-maintained, signposted cycle route (mostly paved). While the route features unchallenging ups and and downs as well as some ascents, it still makes for a perfect family trip. The Val Pusteria/Pustertaler railway runs parallel to the route, so you can return by train if necessary.

Toblach-Bruneck

Take the train from Brunico/Bruneck to San Candido/Innichen. From there, take the Drava/Drau cycle path over Versciaco/Vierschach and Prato alla Drava/Winnebach to Lienz. The section of the Drava/Drau cycle path between San Candido/Innichen and Lienz is particularly well developed. You can also begin the tour in Villabassa/Niederdorf or Dobbiaco/Toblach if you wish a longer route. The distance between Dobbiaco/Toblach and Sillian is gently sloping, which makes it ideal for families with young children. The way is lined with several railway stations, so you have the opportunity to return by train if you so wish.
The cycle path is well paved and signposted, with a number of rest areas along the way where you can get refreshment. From Lienz you can get back to Brunico/Bruneck by train.

Medium difficulty cycling tours
Drive from the hotel to the tennis hall in Brunico/Bruneck, where the tour begins. Take the cycle path along the Rienza/Rienz gorge until you reach and cross the Val Pusteria/Pustertal main road in Perca/Percha. Continue on the asphalt road to Luns and Ameto/Amaten. In Ameto/Amaten turn left (signposts 4a and 5); the steep downhill will lead you to Villa Santa Caterina/ Aufhogen and on to S. Giorgio/St. Georgen. Cross the village and reach the path no. 17 a to Greinwalden and Falzes/Pflalzen. In Falzes/Pfalzen turn left at the sports zone and follow the signs to Fassinge/Fassing and Lothen until you reach San Lorenzo/St. Lorenzen. Past the railway underpass, turn left to continue to Brunico/Bruneck.

Starting from the Rubner’s Hotel Rudolf, reach Brunico/Bruneck, Teodone/Dietenheim and Luns. Continue on the mountain road to Vila di Sopra/Oberwielenbach (1.350 m). Past the village centre, turn left into the Valle di Vila/Oberwielenbach Tal and continue on the constantly uphill forest path. Do not miss the opportunity to stop by at the traditional Lercher hut (right hillside).
After a refreshing break, return onto the forest path to Vila di Sopra/Oberwielenbach and follow the signs to the earth pyramids in Plata/Platten (municipality of Perca/Percha). A path negotiates from the Schönblick inn through meadows and forests, which leads to Vila di Sotto/ Unterwielenbach, from where you can take the Val Pusteria/Pustertal main road underpass and back on the cycle path to Brunico/Bruneck.

Start from the hotel and reach Brunico/Bruneck, and take the bike path to S.Giorgio/St. Georgen and Falzes/Pfalzen. Take the "Steine erzählen" path negotiating around the village and reach Molini/Mühlen. The tour leads you to the Issengo/Issinger lake, Fassine/Fassing and Castel Badia/Sonnenburg. Finally cycle around the Pflaurenzer Kopf and continue on the cycle path to San Lorenzo/St. Lorenzen. Trail no. 1 A leads back through Waldheim and the town centre of Brunico/Bruneck to Riscone/Reischach.

Leave the hotel and reach Brunico/Bruneck, towards the town pool. Once there, get across the Rienza/Rienz gorge past the church in Valdaora di Sotto/Niederolang, and take the bike path towards Gassl. Cross the Furkelbach brook and continue on the forest road to the Lanzwiesenalm alp, then downhill to the Angereralm alp and further down to Valdaora di Sopra/Oberolang. From there, cycle back to Valdaora di Sotto/Niederolang and turn left before the railway underpass to get to the paved road connecting Valdaora/Olang and Riscone/Reischach. Once you reach the Mairkicher hut, turn right, descend to the Lamprechtsburg castle and get back to Riscone/Reischach.

This cycling tour begins in Brunico/Bruneck. Take the South Tyrol cycle path to San Lorenzo/St. Lorenz, at the entrance to the Val Badia/Gadertal turn left and circle the Pflaurenzer Kopf; you will reach Ehrenburg with its castle. Follow the trail along the Rienza/Rienz river, across the Val Pusteria/Pustertal and past Chienes/Kien, San Sigismondo/St. Sigmund and Vandoies di Sotto/Niedervintl.
From Vandoies di Sotto/Niedervintl go downhill to the Chiusa di Rio Pusteria/Mühlbacher Klause, then uphill to Rio di Pusteria/Mühlbach. The path then goes downhill to the fortress of Fortezza/Franzenfeste, where you turn left towards the Lake of Varna/Vahrn. The bike path then leads you to the town centre of Bressanone/Brixen, from where you can get back to Brunico/Bruneck by train.

Challenging cycling tours
From the valley terminal of the Plan de Corones/Kronplatz lift, cycle back ca. 950 m towards Riscone/Reischach and turn right at the Alpenblick house, towards the Ochsenalm alp. At the next junction, break right into the forest road, and follow the signs to the Ochsenalm and Plan de Corones/Kronplatz. Pass the Ochsenalm; after 2 km uphill you will reach a fork. Bear left and continue eastbound to the Plan de Corones/Kronplatz. Follow the signs towards the Valdaora/Olang valley terminal until you reach the Geiselberger hut. Turn left, always heading towards the valley terminal; the path goes steeply downhill to the Prackenhütte hut. Once there, turn left onto the paved road and follow the signs to Brunico/Bruneck, Hexenplatzl. After ca. 2 km you will reach a junction; turn left into the forest path until you reach a fork. Turn left and continue on path no. 14 towards Brunico/Bruneck, Hexenplatzl, then on a forest road and partially across the Ried ski slope up to Riscone/Reischach and back to the valley terminal of the Plan de Corones/Kronplatz lift.

A quiet, paved road leads you from San Vigilio di Marebbe/St. Vigil in Enneberg through the Valle di Fanes/Rautal valley up to Pederü. From there, follow the gravel path (route no. 7) steeply uphill to the beautiful Fanes hut. The tour continues on path no. 11 towards the Limo lake and the Fanes Valley. From there, a demanding single trail leads downhill to San Cassiano/St. Kassian. Finally, you reach the valley through the Val Badia/Gadertal cycling partly on the bike path and partly on an asphalt road. Shortly after San Martino in Badia/St. Martin in Thurn, in Piccolino/Pikolein, turn right onto the forest road, which leads you to the Piz de Plaies and to the starting point.

Whether by road- or mountain bike, − this tour is most rewarding. The Plan de Corones/Kronplatz has been a milestone of the Giro d'Italia on several occasion, and for good reason, as it requires both endurance and skill.
Tour description
The tour starts at the valley terminal of the Plan de Corones/Kronplatz lift. From here, cycle back about 950 m to the crossroads, turn left to Santo Stefano/Stefansdorf and pass the village. At the intersection, turn right and continue on path no. 15 to Maria Saalen. At the farmstead, turn left and reach the crossroads in Moos. From there, continue for about 1 km, then tackle the moderately steep uphill trail (no. 15) until you reach a junction. Turn left and go uphill to Maria Saalen and continue on trail no. 12 until you reach Pieve di Marebbe/Enneberg Pfarre. From the centre of the village the path goes steeply uphill; follow the signs to Santo Stefano/Stefansdorf. Just before the hamlet of La Costa you will reach a fork; turn right onto path no. 2 and pass through the hamlet of Fordora. Continue to Frena; once there, break left into the forest. There is a prohibition sign for bikers, but that only applies to the descent, while ascent is permitted. When you reach the crossroads, turn left and continue uphill to the junction. Bear left again and follow path no. 2. Here you will have to push your bike against a 80 m altitude difference. At the Reischacher Köpfl you will find a short trail. Follow the signs towards the valley terminal in Riscone/Reischach and reach the forest road. Bear right and pedal uphill to the mountain terminal of the Plan de Corones/Kronplatz lift, where you can also stop for a break at the restaurant Corones.
The tour continues eastwards. Follow the signs to the Valdaora/Olang valley terminal to the Geiselberger hut. Bear left, continue towards the valley terminal and downhill to the Pracken hut. Break right onto path no. 5 B, reach the intersection and turn left onto route no. 3 towards Geiselsberg until you reach the junction with the Furkelpassstraße. Follow the road, pass Geiselsberg and continue to the Hotel Hubertus. Turn left, go up the hill towards Brunico/Bruneck (on the Prackenweg) until you reach another intersection. Here, turn right on path no. 14 to Brunico/Bruneck – Hexenplatzl, cycling partly on the Ried ski slope, partly on forest trails to the Pension Alpenblick. From there go left towards Riscone/Reischach and back to the valley terminal of the Plan de Corones/Kronplatz lift.

Reach Brunico/Bruneck and take the cycle path to Campo Tures/Sand in Taufers. From there take the well-maintained gravel path to Lutago/Luttach, which runs along the Aurino/Ahr river. Once in Lutago/Luttach, take the path to San Giovanni/St. Johann, which at some point reduces to a narrow trail. Between San Giovanni/St. Johann and Casere/Kasern you will be cycling on the road, which slopes gently in the last 10 km.
You can choose to get back either on the same route or by bus from Casere/Kasern to Brunico/Bruneck.

From the large car park in San Lorenzo/St. Lorenzen, reach the village centre and turn left at the church. Continue towards the industrial zone "Aue", cross the street and turn left to reach Mantana/Montal. From there continue to Moarbach, to the "Kreuzner" in Ellen and take the forest path to the Einhäuserer alp. From there it goes uphill to the Starkenfeld hut (1,940 m) and then again onto a forest path to two crossroads. Turn right at both crossroads, and take paths no. 67 and 67 A downhill to Ellen and from there on the way back to the starting point.
